Before arriving in Germany, you must do the following:
- Apply for a visa, if necessary
- Set up a blocked account if necessary
You should also contact the THU International Office well in advance. There you will receive information on orientation events and the buddy program. These offers not only support you with social integration, but also help you to complete important formalities. That way, you won't have to do the following things on your own after your arrival:
- Register with the city administration (Bürgerservice) within the first 14 days of arrival
- Apply for a residence permit if necessary
- Open a German bank account if necessary
