Accommodations will be booked by the International Office upon receipt of the housing request form.
All exchange students will stay in student residences of the housing office , depending on availability.

Full health insurance coverage is a precondition for your registration as a student at THU. We recommend to all students purchasing travel insurance for your travel time to and from Germany.

Depending on your nationality, you may need a visa and/or a residence permit in order to study in Germany. Visa is the document issued by a German embassy/consulate in your home country allowing you to enter Germany/EU. After your visa expires, you may apply for a residence permit in Germany.

If you are allowed to travel to Germany without a visa (please check with the authorities), we will guide you through the process of applying for a residence permit after your arrival if you exceed the 90 days of legal stay.  (only applies to passport holders USA, Brazil and Korea)

THU is not involved in the visa process and is not in a position to speed up the procedure or influence the requirements.
