Alumni & Supporters

A university thrives on strong partnerships. It is only through collaboration with committed supporters that it can continue to develop in the areas of teaching, research and knowledge transfer, and remain fit for the future. Numerous renowned companies and committed individuals are already supporting this journey as members of proTHU Alumni and patrons of the Technische Hochschule Ulm e.V.

proTHU sees itself as a bridge between the university and society. Since its foundation, the generous support of our sponsors has enabled us to carry out numerous projects and provide important impetus. Personal interaction is particularly important to us: together, we want to develop new perspectives and actively shape the future.

Become part of our network and help pave the way for future generations. For students in particular, membership offers the chance to remain connected to the university beyond their studies and to benefit from a strong alumni network.

proTHU Mentoring

What is mentoring?

Mentoring means that an experienced specialist or manager guides a student on their path to a future career—in a personal, practical, and peer-to-peer manner.

Over the course of two semesters, the mentor and mentee meet regularly, usually in one-on-one sessions. These discussions focus on personal development, career goals, and specific next steps. At the same time, mentees gain valuable insights into a mentor’s day-to-day work and benefit from the mentor’s decision to pursue further studies.

How do you become a mentee?

Requirements: Students at THU or Neu-Ulm University who have completed their undergraduate studies

Here’s how to apply:

  • Fill outthe application form and submit it along with a short video (via email or mail)
  • It pays to act fast: Spots are limited (“first come, first served”)
  • After confirmation, the program begins with a group kick-off event, including the assignment of mentors and mentees

Afterward, the pairs organize their meetings individually. The program is supplemented by a mid-program meeting and a closing event.

We finance your project!

The proTHU Association provides both moral and financial support for projects related to academic studies that have a positive public impact.

The proTHU Association—alumni and supporters of the Ulm University of Technology—aims to increase the Ulm University of Technology’s visibility to the public. That is why we support student projects that contribute to the university’s positive public image. We provide funding for material expenses of up to €400.

Requirements for funding are:

  • Public Impact: Eligible projects are those that stand out for their practical relevance, technical sophistication, sustainability, and/or creativity.
  • Academic relevance: All projects carried out as part of a degree program at THU are eligible. Examples include: term papers, semester-long “
    ” projects, and internal theses.

  • Final Presentation: By applying for funding, you agree to present your project at a proTHU event once it has been successfully completed. Such an event offers you the opportunity to make valuable connections with potential employers.
  • Membership: The applicant must be a member of proTHU. Membership can be applied for at the same time as the project grant.
    membership is free for students.
