In the digital transformation of the economy, you collect, process and transmit large amounts of different data for a variety of purposes. In order to evaluate and use this data for operational purposes, you will systematically apply different methods of information processing. This applies not only to data processing: you will model, organize and improve almost every business process with the help of digital applications.
The Business Informatics course lasts a total of seven semesters. It combines business administration and computer science and provides an interdisciplinary education. The foundation course comprises all modules up to the end of the second semester of the curriculum and provides basic knowledge in subjects such as mathematics, programming, business administration, accounting, economics and the fundamentals of business informatics.
In the main course of study, which extends over semesters three to seven, you will delve deeper into individual topics of business informatics. By choosing a specialization and taking elective modules from the fourth semester onwards, you can actively shape your curriculum and choose courses that match your personal interests in addition to the compulsory modules.

In the fifth or sixth semester, you will also complete a practical project in which you will work in a company of your choice and gain practical insights into the application scenarios of business information systems. In the seventh semester, you will complete your Business Informatics degree with your Bachelor's thesis. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the academic degree Bachelor of Science.
You need a general higher education entrance qualification, a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification, an entrance qualification for universities of applied sciences or a comparable qualification. The Business Informatics course does not require an NC, which means that no specific grade point average is necessary. An interest in IT and business processes is also required. Organizational skills, logical and analytical thinking and enjoyment of working in a team are also helpful. Good communication skills will also help you with projects and later tasks in your day-to-day work.
