Institute of Vehicle Systems Engineering

The Institute of Vehicle Systems Engineering (IFS) covers the fields of automotive engineering, vehicle electronics, mobile hydraulics, fluid mechanics and thermodynamics. Other key areas of focus include structural mechanics, dynamics and acoustics.

The IFS supports the practical training of students and the implementation of externally funded projects in collaboration with industry.

Further information

Teaching at the institute

At the Institute of Vehicle Systems Engineering, students are given hands-on teaching with modern vehicles, measurement technology and software.
In the driving test, our students carry out slalom, evasive and deceleration maneuvers under supervision. In the "Automotive Laboratory" practical course, students determine measurement data from their own driving tests and evaluate the data with regard to engineering training.
