This is my favorite place because I find the Blautopf simply fascinating. Its color changes depending on the weather and season, taking on different shades of blue. It also leads to a vast cave system beneath the Swabian Alb
My tips and recommendations: Ilove coming here in the summer for a scoop of ice cream. It’s also worth visiting the “Urmu.”
This is my favorite place because the Lautertal valley near Hayingen is so idyllic and peaceful. A must-see here is Derneck Castle (see photo). It’s always worth a visit for families!
My tips & recommendations: There’s a restauranton the grounds where you can enjoy regional Swabian cuisine.
This is my favorite place because I find it really fascinating how much of the fortress has been preserved in Ulm and Neu-Ulm. The loop trail is 12 kilometers long.
My tips & recommendations: My highlights were the water tower and Wilhelmburg Castle. If the weather is nice, take a short detour to the Danube and enjoy a coffee with a view of the cathedral, for example at the riverside bar in Neu-Ulm.
This is my favorite spot because the sunsets and sunrises there are especially beautiful. You get a great, sweeping view of Ulm.
My tips & recommendations: On a clear day, you can even see the Alps. A walk there is definitely worth it, and there are plenty of benches to rest on. It’s the perfect place to unwind.

This is my favorite place because the city library is a haven of peace, inspiration, and relaxation right in the heart of the city. The light-filled pyramid-shaped building not only boasts impressive architecture but also offers a wide selection of books, media, and cozy reading spots—perfect for browsing, studying, or simply unwinding.
My tips & recommendations: The top floor offers a wonderful view of Ulm—be sure to head up there! The rotating exhibitions and events are also worth checking out. If you’re in the mood for a quick break, you’ll find some nice cafes nearby where you can relax.
