Students have the opportunity to gain additional qualifications through extra coursework. The IFM organises additional qualifications in the fields of environmental studies and business administration.
Knowledge of business administration is also of great importance for graduates of technical and IT-oriented degree programs. Accordingly, foundational courses such as “Introduction to Business Administration” are now an integral part of many bachelor’s programs at Ulm University of Applied Sciences.
In the field of business, there are two additional qualifications to choose from:
Supplementary Qualification in International Business (ZQ IW)
Prepares students for roles in internationally oriented companies, such as in international sales.
Please send the forms to ifm@thu.de or hand them in at A100.
In order to be given preferential admission to the relevant courses as part of a ZQ, please register for the courses in SELMA at the beginning of the semester and send the registration form to ifm@thu.de by Tuesday of the first week of lectures.
The required course combinations for the additional qualifications were adjusted in the summer semester 2022. Please therefore use the application form that matches your individual start date for the additional qualification.
The application must be received by the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (IFM) at least three weeks before your Bachelor's certificate is issued. The reason for this is that the issuing of the degree certificate and the additional qualification are linked by the system.

Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship
Current and future challenges—such as resource scarcity, climate change, and the management of hazardous substances—require new approaches in technology, business, and society.
The Environmental+ minor offers students the opportunity to explore these topics in depth and acquire additional skills in the environmental field. Upon successful completion, you will receive a supplementary certificate to accompany your bachelor’s degree.
The focus is not on technical aspects, but rather—depending on the module—on the fundamentals of the natural sciences, societal impacts, and legal and historical contexts.
This supplementary qualification can serve as a foundation for future professional specialization in the environmental field, such as roles as an environmental management officer.
