Our subject areas

The core tasks of the Institute for University Didactics (IHD) include shaping the transition from school to university, supporting teachers and guiding students in their learning process. Students can take advantage of free learning advice. This provides support with individual questions about learning and studying (contact: lernberatung(at)thu.de).
We also offer a qualification program for (future) tutors in the field of higher education didactics. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to ihd(at)thu.de.

Teachers are advised on the didactic design and further development of their courses. One focus is on the integration of digital media and the development and implementation of blended learning scenarios in Moodle. The Moodle team is available to answer technical and organizational questions about Moodle: moodle(at)thu.de.

During the lecture period, the IHD regularly organizes internal university colloquia on current didactic topics. Among other things, best practice examples from teaching are presented and discussed. You can find the dates on our intranet. In addition, the institute initiates and supports projects for the further development of teaching and learning.

The IHD manages two e-testing centers at THU. Room C011 at the Prittwitzstraße site and room S101 at the Albert-Einstein-Allee site are used as e-testing centers. The centers have a total of 50 PC workstations (30 PWS, 20 AEA). Digital examinations are taken in the e-testing centers. These are, for example, the mathematics entrance test, the physics entrance test, the certificate in multidimensional analysis and others.

Further information on the current tests can be found on the intranet. If you would like to carry out e-testing at THU, we will be happy to support you(e-testing(at)thu.de).
