On the Bachelor’s degree programme in Computer Science (B.Sc.) at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, you will learn to find solutions that work intuitively. As an indispensable cross-disciplinary technology, computer science can be found in all areas of life. It ranges from IT security, mobile computing, technical computer science, software engineering, artificial intelligence, computer graphics and robotics to information systems in medicine and business. The Computer Science degree programme lasts seven semesters. With eight specialisations, you can tailor your studies to suit your individual interests. You can also study Computer Science as a dual-track programme with in-depth practical experience or following the Ulm model.

The computer science course lasts seven semesters. You will receive a sound education in the core subjects of computer science and mathematics as well as additional subjects from the economic and social fields. Characteristic of the course are the options for individual orientation according to personal interests.

You also have the opportunity to complete up to two semesters at a partner university abroad and integrate them into your computer science studies. Extensive project work and an internship semester in a company ensure practical relevance. The Bachelor's thesis follows at the end of the course. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded the academic degree of Bachelor of Science.
You can apply for the course if you have a general higher education entrance qualification, a technical college entrance qualification, a subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or a comparable qualification. During your studies, you will deal with programming languages and programming methods, software technology, operating systems, databases and computer networks, among other things. An interest in computers and technical issues as well as logical thinking are therefore important prerequisites. Initial experience with computers can make it easier for you to get started, but is not a prerequisite. A good command of English is also helpful. An NC is required to study computer science, which means that a certain average grade is required.
The Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (B. Sc.) opens up a wide range of career opportunities in almost all sectors. For example, you can later work in research and development, project management, IT consulting or service. Possible employers include software and computer technology companies, IT service providers, consulting firms and institutions in the healthcare sector or public administration.
