The Faculty of Production Engineering and Management (P) focuses on plant engineering, production processes and IT systems for planning and operations. The faculty works on systems engineering and develops solutions for the intelligent control and networking of machines and plant, in a cost-effective and resource-efficient manner. This is based on an interdisciplinary approach drawing on expertise from mechanical engineering, electrical and automation engineering, computer science and economics.
Production engineering encompasses measures and facilities for the manufacture of goods. It is divided into manufacturing technology (discrete goods), energy technology (energy) and process engineering (bulk goods, raw materials). Logistics manages the distribution of these goods.
Production management plans, controls and monitors production processes – from factory planning and lean production to quality management. Supply chain management extends this to entire value-added networks.
The Production Technology Colloquium is organized annually by the Faculty of Production Engineering and Production Management. The focus is on current topics in production technology, which are presented in the form of lectures, discussions and exhibitions. Experts and decision-makers share their experiences and facilitate an intensive exchange of information and knowledge.
The Adhesive Bonding Technology Colloquium ( KKU) takes place regularly as part of the Production Technology Colloquium. It is dedicated to current issues in adhesive bonding technology and also offers lectures, discussions and opportunities to exchange ideas with experts.
