New contract term: April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2029.
Ulm University of Applied Sciences has entered into a “TAH Campus” license agreement with MathWorks®. The Total Academic Headcount license includes MATLAB and Simulink as well as numerous add-on toolboxes. To continue using MATLAB for another year, you must update your license file. If the license has already expired, you will be prompted to activate it when you start MATLAB. Once activation is successful, the system will switch to the new license file after the old one expires.
MATLAB may be installed on an unlimited number of computers at the Ulm University of Applied Sciences, along with all toolboxes. This also includes non-commercial research. However, commercial use and paid contract research are not permitted. For courses with external participants, special paid licenses must be purchased.
Furthermore, the license permits installations in classrooms and laboratories.
Under the terms of the license, all students, professors, and staff may use the software on campus and at home.
Students, professors, or staff members can download a personal standalone copy of the software for each computer on which they are the sole user (applies to computers at work and at home). To do so, visit the MATLAB Portal at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, where you can both download the software and activate the license.

As part of our TAH license, MathWorks offers free online courses. These courses include presentations, quizzes, and hands-on MATLAB sessions in which learners can immediately apply new skills. The training content is presented in short, clearly defined modules, allowing users to focus on topics that are of particular interest to them.
