International tuition fees

The tuition fees for international students at universities in Baden-Württemberg amount to EUR 1500.00 per semester. International students are students who are not nationals of a member state of the European Union or of another state party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (Section 3 (1) of the State Higher Education Fees Act). Students with a German university entrance qualification do not have to pay international tuition fees.

Exceptions

Exceptions to the obligation to pay tuition fees for international students are regulated in the State University Fees Act. In most cases, this depends on the type of residence permit.

You can find the exceptions in the information form in the downloads. If an exception applies to you, please complete the form and send it to us together with the relevant supporting documents. An exemption from the obligation to pay tuition fees for international students can only be determined once you have submitted the information form and all the necessary supporting documents.

Exemption from tuition fees

Exemption from tuition fees for international students or for a second degree course must be applied for before the start of the lecture period . Exemptions are granted in particular during a semester of leave or internship. Please note that the exemption only applies to tuition fees. This means that you must always pay the semester fees , even during a semester of leave or internship.

Second degree

The tuition fees for a second degree course are EUR 650.00 per semester. They are charged for a second or further Bachelor's degree or a second or further degree in a consecutive Master's program. A second degree course is deemed to exist if the preceding Bachelor's or Master's degree course was completed in Germany.

It is therefore not a second degree if...
