The Biomechatronics Laboratory is a research laboratory at the Institute of Medical Technology and Mechatronics at Ulm University of Applied Sciences. Its focus is on application-oriented research conducted in close collaboration with companies, hospitals, and other research institutions.
Biomechatronics is an interdisciplinary field of research that combines various scientific and technical disciplines. The laboratory addresses the following topics, among others:
The research laboratory comprises several working groups with different areas of expertise. If you are interested in collaborating with us, we look forward to hearing from you. You can find the respective contact persons and contact information on the pages of the individual working groups.
The Implants and Orthopedics Working Group is engaged in research and development in the fields of biomechanics, implant technology, and regulatory affairs. Its focus is on the development, evaluation, and approval of innovative medical implants. In doing so, the working group combines engineering expertise with practical knowledge of regulatory requirements and approval procedures.
The Simulation and Finite Element Method Research Group focuses on the fields of structural mechanics and dynamics, product development, and modern methods of finite element simulation. The group develops and uses simulation-based methods to analyze complex systems, support development processes, and optimize products throughout the entire development cycle.
The Artificial Intelligence for Sensor Data Analysis research group is part of the "Biomechatronics" laboratory at the Institute for Medical Technology and Mechatronics. The research laboratory has an interdisciplinary focus and brings together several research groups that work in common application areas but pursue different methods and scientific priorities.
