Medical Informatics

The Department of Medical Informatics at the Institute of Informatics deals with the application of information technologies in medicine and healthcare as well as the teaching of medical basics.

Medical classification systems (e.g. MeSH, SNOMED, ICD, OPS) and medical documentation
Process modeling and simulation

Medical Informatics laboratory area:

PC pool with 24 PC workstations, primarily for courses and exercises in the field of medical informatics
Workroom with 8 PC workstations for carrying out project work and final theses
Access to hospital information and database systems for demonstration purposes, laboratory exercises, projects and final theses
