Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU) has held Fairtrade University status since 2019. Fairtrade Germany has already confirmed and renewed this status three times. We are committed to fair and sustainable trade and use certified products, for example at events or in our Fair-O-Maten vending machines. Together with partners such as Engineers Without Borders, we actively promote the Fairtrade ethos.
We promote awareness of global connections with regular fair trade campaigns. At events with fairly traded drinks, we provide information about ways to consume more fairly. Our Fairtrade group organizes a wide range of initiatives: from fair volleyballs and sustainably produced T-shirts to fair Christmas trees and plants and forward-looking exhibitions.
We support THU's Repair Café and were a finalist in the 2024 Fairtrade Awards. Through responsible, future-oriented teaching and transformative research projects, Fairtrade is firmly anchored as a cross-cutting issue at THU.
