For foreign university degrees, we also require a credential evaluation from the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB). Please ensure that you present your professional experience and academic achievements in a manner relevant to the advertised professorship. The appointment process follows a set procedure and involves several stages of selection. It typically takes several months from the time the position is advertised until the appointment is made.
The Appointments Committee (BK) oversees the entire process and assesses your professional and personal suitability for the advertised professorship. The BK consists of professors, a student representative, external corporate representatives, and the Equal Opportunity Officer.
The next step is to get to know you professionally and personally. The first appointment includes two teaching samples and a subsequent interview:
You will receive the topics and organizational information in advance with your invitation.
If you are considered in the further procedure, we will invite you to a second appointment at THU as soon as possible. During a tour of the campus, you will get to know some of our laboratories and the technical equipment. You will have the opportunity to talk to members of the Rectorate and your potential colleagues and clarify any unanswered questions.
