Registration and de-registration

THU students are already registered in the library through their enrollment. The student ID card is also the library card.
Employees and professors appear once in person at the library for registration and present their university ID card.
Lecturers also appear once in person at the library for registration and bring their ID card with them.

Please register at the library using the online form (My account/No/Not registered). You will receive a welcome email and can collect your library card on your first visit to the Main Library on the Prittwitzstraße campus.
Please bring your identity card and, if applicable, a certificate of enrolment from your own university/your student ID.
The fee for external students is a one-off charge of EUR 15. Students from other universities and school pupils are exempt from this fee if they present a current certificate of enrollment/student ID.

Please note our user regulations.

You can sendproof of discharge (library discharge stamp) to bibliothek(at)thu.de. We will then forward these to the relevant departments.

The short film about the university library gives a first impression of how the library works in a humorous way.
