Working alongside your studies

Whether you are allowed to work alongside your studies depends on your residence status. EU citizens have free access to the labor market. For non-EU citizens, gainful employment is regulated by law.

Obligation to register in Germany

No matter which country you come from: Anyone moving into accommodation in Germany must register with the local citizens' office (Ulm or Neu-Ulm town hall) within two weeks. Non-EU citizens must also apply for a final electronic residence permit at the local immigration office after registering.
