Preliminary courses, Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Information Technology

The preparatory course run by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Ulm University of Applied Sciences helps you get off to a successful start in your degree programme.  The course helps you make the transition from school or work to university easier, brush up on important fundamentals and familiarise yourself with everyday university life at an early stage. This will enable you to start your degree with greater confidence and a solid foundation.

It is aimed at first-year students on the Electrical Engineering & Information Technology and Digital Media degree programmes.

  • An opportunity to get to know one another, form study groups, and network
  • Guided tour of the facilities
  • Use of the digital infrastructure
  • Use of the library, cafeteria, etc.
  • Explanation of the class schedule
  • Introduction to the courses and faculty for the first semester
  • Meeting key contacts (custodian, secretary, dean, academic dean, registrar’s office, etc.)
  • Refresher on high school-level math
  • Interdisciplinary topics: e .g., services provided by the Student Services Organization
