Procedure

Digital Media - In-depth practice

The Digital Media program with an in-depth practical component begins in the winter semester and lasts seven semesters. If you have already signed your contract before the start of the program, you’ll first get to know your company during a brief orientation phase lasting two to four weeks. Afterward, your studies begin directly at the university with the first lectures.

As the program progresses, theoretical and practical phases alternate: During lecture and exam periods, you’ll study at THU; during breaks from classes, you’ll gain valuable practical experience at the company. During the introductory phase, which covers the first two semesters, you’ll learn the fundamentals of design, media technology, and programming. In the advanced phase—semesters 3, 4, and 6—you’ll deepen your knowledge in the areas of publishing, production, and interactive systems. The curriculum is supplemented by courses on programming web applications and virtual spaces. You’ll complete your internship semester and your bachelor’s thesis directly at your partner company.
