Alongside high-quality teaching and continuing professional development, applied research is one of the core missions of Ulm University of Technology. Through its research activities, the university aims to make a significant contribution to the technical, environmental and, consequently, social development of the Ulm region and the state of Baden-Württemberg. The university’s researchers use their expertise to drive forward projects in collaboration with partners from industry and academia, and are actively involved in the individual research areas at the University of Ulm.
Since 2022, doctoral students at THU have been able to do their doctorate at the joint doctoral center of the universities of applied sciences in Baden-Württemberg. In addition, cooperative doctorates with a university (usually a university) that is authorized to award doctorates are still possible.
