The preparatory courses at Ulm University of Applied Sciences help you get off to a successful start in your degree programme. They make the transition from school or work to university easier, help you brush up on key fundamentals, and familiarise you with everyday university life at an early stage.
As well as subject-specific content, the focus is also on getting to know one another and settling into university life. This will enable you to start your degree with greater confidence and a positive outlook.
Physical Therapy: There is no prerequisite preparatory course for this program. It begins with a welcome session on September 28, 2026. For more information, see the “Faculty of Medical Technology and Mechatronics” tile.
Digital Media (DM) and Electrical Engineering & Information Technology (ET): The programs begintogether on September 14 at the Prittwitzstraße Campus with a welcome session. Starting September 15, the preparatory courses will take place at the Albert-Einstein-Allee 53 campus with their own program.

The preparatory courses will take place from September 14 to September 25, 2026, and are designed to help you get off to a good start in your studies.
With the exception of the Electrical Engineering (ET), Electrical Engineering (EET), and Digital Media (DM) programs, the preparatory courses will be held on the Prittwitzstraße campus (Prittwitzstraße 10, 89075 Ulm).

You don’t need to prepare anything for the orientation course. We’ll go over everything on the first day of the course. Enjoy the time leading up to it as much as you can—there will be plenty to do once you start your studies.
The orientation course focuses on getting to know each other and getting to know the university. We’ll also review basic math concepts that are essential for your studies.
