Preparatory courses

The preparatory courses at Ulm University of Technology are designed to help you get off to a successful start in your degree programme. They make the transition from school or work to university easier, help you brush up on key fundamentals, and familiarise you with everyday university life at an early stage.

As well as subject-specific content, the focus is also on getting to know one another and settling into university life. This means you can start your studies with greater confidence and a positive outlook.

The following information does not apply to the degree programs Digital Media (DM), Electrical Engineering & Information Technology (ET), Electrical Engineering and Information Technology (EET) and Physiotherapy (PHY). Contents of the preliminary courses

You don't need to prepare anything for the preliminary course. We will discuss everything on the first day of the preliminary course. Enjoy the time until then as much as you can - there will be plenty to do later on.

The focus of the preliminary course is on getting to know each other and getting to know the university. We also repeat basic mathematics content, which is an important prerequisite for studying. The preliminary course ends with the mathematics entrance test, which is a prerequisite for the mathematics exam in the first semester. The test can be repeated during the semester.

In addition to the general part of the preliminary course, there are also faculty-specific courses. You can find information on these below in the section of the respective faculty. If you have any questions, you can contact the pre-course coordinator of the respective faculty directly.

Procedure & Rooms
