The combination of academic teaching and practice-oriented project work is regarded as a key feature of German universities of applied sciences. This educational concept is being adopted by the German International University (GIU) in Cairo.
Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU), together with other German universities, is supporting the establishment of the GIU in Cairo. The aim is to establish a range of degree programmes modelled on the German system.
GIU has been delivering courses since 2020 and is implementing the concept of practice-oriented higher education.
