Master's application

Application & Requirements

The prerequisite for a master’s program is a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification with a course load of at least 210 ECTS credits. Alternatively, a university degree with 180 ECTS credits and a commitment to earn the remaining ECTS credits from the THU’s bachelor’s program during the master’s program. The university degree may be earned at a German or foreign university.

Step 1

Additional documentation for foreign bachelor’s degrees:

• For foreign nationals: Apply early for recognition of your bachelor’s degree at the Studienkolleg Konstanz
• If you are a German citizen: Apply early for recognition of your bachelor’s degree at the Stuttgart Regional Council
• If you are a Chinese citizen: First, you need the APS certificate. After that, you can apply for recognition in Konstanz.
• Proof of required language proficiency: C1 in German for Master’s programs taught in German and B2 in English for Master’s programs taught in German and English.
