Girls’ Day 2026 at Ulm University of Applied Sciences
Record turnout and great enthusiasm
66 schoolgirls took part in this year’s Girls’ Day at Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU) – more than ever before. Demand exceeded all expectations: almost all the activities were fully booked several weeks in advance. Unfortunately, this meant that some interested girls were unable to take part. Our tip for next year: register early.
The participants gained fascinating insights into various technical and scientific fields. Twelve schoolgirls each took part in the sessions ‘Laser Technology for Ice Queens’ from the Mechanical Engineering/Automotive Engineering department, ‘Your Girls’ Day at Einstein Motorsport’, and ‘Quick Clicker versus Sleeping Pill – We’re Building a Reaction Game’ from the Medical Technology department. Ten participants opted for “Electronics Under Voltage – Build Your Solar-Powered Desk Lamp” from the electrical engineering department. With 20 participants, the session “Science You Can Bite Into: Chewing Gum and AI for Young Explorers” from the Medical Informatics/Data Science in Medicine programme attracted the largest group.
The THU would like to thank all the participants for their keen interest, as well as everyone involved who made this day possible, and looks back on a thoroughly successful Girls’ Day 2026.
