Senior Researcher in the Smart Grids Research Group at Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU) and Head of the Energy Meteorology Research Unit. My research focuses on the interface between weather, climate and energy systems, with a particular emphasis on solar energy, photovoltaic forecasts, Earth observation and smart grids.
I am currently working on international research projects such as EO4ER (Earth Observation for Energy Risks), an ESA-funded Digital Twin Earth project under the Destination Earth (DestinE) initiative, as well as SOLREV, the German version of IEA PVPS Task 16.
