Research

My research focuses on the design, operation and evaluation of modern cloud systems – ranging from architecture and DevOps methodologies to the observability of large-scale applications. I draw on open standards and the CNCF ecosystem as the basis for vendor-neutral, sustainable solutions.
Another key focus is digital sovereignty: I investigate the conditions under which European open-source infrastructures represent a viable alternative to US hyperscalers – both for German SMEs and for industrial use cases. From my work in the automotive sector, I bring specific experience with computationally intensive workloads and distributed systems in an industrial environment.

Knowledge Transfer & Collaborations

From my industrial experience in the automotive sector, I bring practical experience of large-scale cloud deployments and computationally intensive workloads. I am open to application-oriented research collaborations with companies from the Ulm region as well as from the automotive and manufacturing industries.
