  • Machine learning, in particular deep learning for time series and image data
  • Reliable AI systems, Explainable AI
  • Automated sensor data analysis in therapy, diagnosis and sport (e.g. motion analysis)
  • Algorithms and AI applications for inertial sensor data in motion analysis

About me

  • 2007: Completed a degree in Computer Science (Diplom), University of Ulm, specialising in neuroinformatics
  • 2011: PhD (Dr.-Ing.): ‘Generic sensor fusion framework for simultaneous state and presence estimation in vehicle environment recognition’
  • 2010–2012: Development Engineer and Project Manager for Research and Pre-Development at Daimler AG, Sensor Fusion Division
  • 2012–2014: Software architect and project manager in the development of camera-based vision and surveillance systems at Cassidian Optronics GmbH
  • Since 2014: Chair of Software Engineering and Sensor Technology (THU)
