Suitability assessment procedure

In order to be admitted to the Digital Media degree programme at Ulm University of Applied Sciences, you must successfully complete the aptitude assessment procedure (EFV). The EFV assesses whether you meet the basic entry requirements and possess the personal aptitude required for studying Digital Media.

As part of the aptitude assessment procedure, you will sit a written examination at Ulm University of Applied Sciences (THU). You will only be admitted to the programme if you meet the necessary requirements and pass the EFV.

You can find the exact regulations governing the procedure in the THU Statutes for the Aptitude Assessment Procedure and Selection Process for the Digital Media degree programme.

If the overall grade point average is lower than 4.0, there is no aptitude for the degree program. The test examines course-specific skills and abilities.

The successfully determined aptitude is a prerequisite for a place on the Digital Media degree program. Your aptitude assessment remains valid permanently. This means that you can reapply for the course in a later year without having to complete the aptitude assessment procedure again.

If you already have a valid aptitude assessment certificate when you apply, please upload it to the application portal together with the other required documents.

After evaluating the aptitude assessment procedure, the aptitude grade is determined and the admission grade is calculated from this and the overall grade of the higher education entrance qualification. The aptitude grade is included in the admission grade, which is decisive for an allocation procedure if there are more applicants than places available.
