About me

He has been a member of the Department of Physiotherapy at Ulm University of Applied Sciences since January 2026. As a holder of a PhD in Human Biology, a Master of Arts in Sports Science and a qualified physiotherapist, he combines in-depth academic research with wide-ranging practical experience.

A particular focus of his work lies at the interface between performance diagnostics, training management and clinical sports therapy – including in professional sport (for example, as an assistant coach and athletic trainer at SSV Ulm 1846 Football Club) and in the field of oncology at Ulm University Hospital.

  • Since January 2026: Professor of Physiotherapy at Ulm University of Applied Sciences (Faculty of Mechatronics and Medical Technology).
  • Since January 2017: Assistant coach and fitness coach (and Head of Youth Fitness since 2022) at SSV Ulm 1846 Fußball GmbH & Co. KGaA in cooperation with Ulm University Hospital.
  • October 2014 – December 2025: Research assistant & physiotherapist at Ulm University Hospital (Department of Sports and Rehabilitation Medicine); Head of outpatient and inpatient sports therapy.
  • June 2016 – January 2022: PhD (Dr. biol. hum.) at the University of Ulm (topic: Effects of high-intensity endurance and strength training in breast cancer patients).
  • 10/2009 – 07/2015: Studied Sports Science (BA & MA, specialising in health promotion) at the University of Stuttgart.
  • 10/2006 – 09/2009: State-recognised training as a physiotherapist.
  • Sports & Performance Diagnostics: Performance forecasting, training load management and injury prevention in elite sport.
  • Oncological Sports Therapy & Prehabilitation: Effects of high-intensity training (HIT/HIRT) in cancer patients and prior to stem cell transplants.
